My old computer got wet. My hard drive is still good and I pulled it out of my alienware with windows 10. I bought a new Alienware that also has windows 10. I bought a Sata cable and plugged in the hard drive and inside the drive (I could open the hard drive folder) All my info was really hard to find. Like certain word docs and things. How can I look at the info more organized? I have a windows 7 asus that is a bit older. like 5 years.. can i plug in the hard drive internally and will it work better? I just want to get my files and such. Thank you.

also wanted to add one thing. I bought a new alienware.... gtx 1070 and has a ssd and a regular 1 tb hard drive. Could I just add my hard drive to the new one...?

I keep looking up and adding more replies (Apologies). Also wondered if cloning was a good option, although I dont really understand what cloning is. just comes up alot it seems

Okay, thank you. Knowing that cloning is not an option is good. Really appreciate the quick reply. Ill just have to dive into it then as you said. And if that's the only trouble I have to deal with, I am not complaining. I was worried that maybe without the structure it had before some things might not show up. But I think im just overthinking everything. One thing in there was a back up copy of my aviation logbook. And I couldnt search for it which was wierd. Although I know the backup copy was on my desktop. I think most of the stuff I wanted was on my desktop actually and I couldnt just search for the file names which was odd.

And for clarification...
"/Users/flynavarro/Desktop"
would actually be "X:/Users/flynavarro/Desktop"...where X is the drive letter that Windows gives this now secondary drive.
