Can any of you watercoolers out there tell me if there is a hard drive "waterblock". I really don't wanna make one so if anybody could tell me either if the exist or where to buy once it'd be greatly appreciated.

Now we're rockin like dokken!

why would you NEED to watercool a hard drive?
I dont know of any waterblocks available, probably because they dont get hot enough to warrant watercooling, most dont even get hot enough to need fans, I know mine dont. you could probably do a DIY job I suppose, personally I wouldnt waste the time, unless theres something Im missing here? Also a waterblock needs to be in close contact with what its cooling (as does a heatsink) I wouldnt like something pressing on my hard drive like that.

ROFL

Just underclock your mouse and the hard drive will surely cool off.

You shouldn't mock, hdd's WILL get hot, (depending on type, ambient, and airflow), especially if you have no fan's in the entire system. I currently have just one fan in the PSU, (which is usually running at 5v). The HDD's get very warm when they have been in use for a while. Yes just an 80mm fan at 5v will move the stagnant hot air around them and cool sufficiently, but if like me you are after silence, and other items are already water-cooled in your PC why not the HDD's? I'm making my own but you can find one for purchase here, (and if asked I'm sure he could make a special type for you if required).

You guys are obviously not running fan free systems....... my case is open.

Air will "flow" or rather rise when it gets hot. This wont effectively cool and item though unless it is designed with heat in mind. Most monitors don't have fans in them and they get pretty warm being cooled by the natural airflow. this is ok as they are designed this way.

I agree Hdd's don't need much cooling either, but when you have ZERO forced air movement around them, regardless of whether the case is open, the hot air they create takes some time to rise so causes the environment around the drives to warm up which in turn causing the drives to get far hotter than is ideal. Solution put a fan in to circulate the air around them or make water-blocks to cool them effectively without adding a fan if like me you are after quiet.

Well I've only seen two HD waterblocks myself, one was custom built and the other was part of the Koolance system if you purchased the addon, I don't think either is on sale seperately. The only HDs that could use cooling is the 10k, 15k, and some 7200k rpm drives and I'm not sure whether or not water-cooling would be good for them. Air-cooling (just an ample amount of air flowing around the drive) works fine with them, and watercooling just may be detrimental for a couple reasons. One would be that hard drives are made to run a little on the warm side, if you take the warmness away it just might throw the calibrations off. The other would be possible uneven cooling since there would probably only be a waterblock on one side (probably the top side since heat rises). Then again, watercooling may work just fine with the drive you have.

ello Bladerunner m8, small world :)
Im at work now and cant get to hwc so thats why im here a lot.
The only fans I have are the little ones on the vid card and the northbridge, my PSU has 2 fans so I suppose they may help a little, but mu hdd doesnt get hot at all.

Hi Calv... wasn't sure if it were you or not :) I've got 1 x 7200 atm and that gets quite warm but it's ok, however when there were 5 x of them together they used to get very hot. I've manged to water-cool eveything else, just the PSU and HDD's remain. HDD's will need water-cooling because I will be isolating (soundproofing) them, total silence is the goal.
I'll let you know if I kill myself....... ur? maybe not 😀

Finally made a Hdd water block, quite easy really
