Question Hard drive wont boot 2nd time

I got a new motherboard, cpu , ram, and ssd. I downloaded the windows installer on external hard drive. I loaded up the installer, selected the drive, and it booyed right up to windows(i had other hdd dives but they didnt effect anything) i shut it down as had to do something. a few hours later I turnedit on and went to boot menu to select the drive as prioroty but it wasnt there. I then unplugged my other drives and did it again and it showed up. I booted and it said it needed to be repaired, i thought i didsomthing wrong and re booted and same thing. I then switched the m.2 slot and the git an error "reboot and select propor boot divice or insert boot media in selected bood divice and prees a key" i have no idea what happened help.

In other words, does the motherboard fail to recognize the drives and/or remember the devices' boot order?

If so, can you please try Clearing the CMOS and see if it helps?
