hard drives data

I am upgrading my old pc..so will i lost my data in d: drive and e: drive....i am replacing motherboard, cpu and ram and i will add a new grphic card...i dont wanna lost my data...please tell me?

You are going to have to reinstall windows. Do you have multiple drives? You mentioned D and E, are those physical drives or partitions on a single drive? If they are multiple drive you will not lose the data. Just make sure you install windows on the correct drive. If it is partitions it should be similar, just make sure you chose the correct drive.

I have 3 drives local disk C in which all the softwares are installed...and D and E are partitions on a single drive in which i put games, movies and pics only...will i lose my data now?

If you are upgrading your PC, you probably won't lose your data on the D/E drives. The safest thing to do with it is when you go to install - disconnect the SATA cable to the D/E drive, that will leave only the C drive to install to. That way you don't accidentally install to the wrong drive. Some tips:

1) make sure your C drive is connected to the lowest numbered SATA port - it could be SATA0 or SATA1 depending on how they number the ports.
2) as mentioned, disconnect the secondary data drive for safety until you get your system up and running.

I'd go further and urge you to properly back up your hard-to-replace files regardless. Any files that are worth worrying about are worth protecting.
