Hello I have a notebook "http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Gaming_Powerhouse/G75VW/" ASUS G75VW. I want to know is it better to have a 3.0 7200rpm External drive or use the 5400rpm internal. I understand that 7200rpm internal beats 5400rpm and SSD beats both. The main reason I ask is I am not comfortable enough upgrading the drive internally myself but if it makes no difference with the 3.0 ports then I may have to pay to get it done. Any and all help is appreciated.

ADDing a new harddrive is the easiest thing someone can do, even if you have never opened your computers. Just like you plug in an external drive, you would plug in an internal drive. Look at your old harddrive, find the same cables, and plug them in. It takes no skill just common sense.

Upgrading or Replacing a hard drive is different, not hard, but does take a little works. If you want to pay for this go ahead, if you want to do it's yourself, let us know.
