Has anyone had any problems putting in 3.5 IDE harddrives in a Fractal Design Focus G Black case?

Solution
yeah, most newer drives\cables offer angled connectors for tight fits.
and SATA connectors are much smaller themselves.

maybe time to upgrade past IDE.
don't even think i've seen one in a system in ~10 years.
like what?

the tabs should slide right out of the drive tray.
and compatible drives should fit with no problem.

Ok, I get that. I just find it's impossible to hook up the IDE and power cable. I can kinda squeeze the IDE cable, but can't manage to get the power cables.

I have that exact case, the SATA / SATA power connectors are indeed a tight fit. I actually knocked the power connector out of the socket the first time i reinstalled the rear side panel.

I am assuming you mean SATA not old school IDE connectors.

Getting SATA cables / SATA power extensions with the 90 degree plugs helps a bit. Pull the cords down below the drives and loop them from below to get rid of as much slack as possible in the empty space between the cage and the PSU, and attach the cables before locking the drive into the cage.

If you are talking old school IDE, the molex power connectors would be very difficult, I would buy molex extensions that have a 90 degree plug.
