I have a Asrock Fatal1ty X99X mother board and I did a new PC build and it was all working with my SSD and I had 4 drives HDD drives lying around and there were 2 500gb and 2 750gb so I popped them in and windows (10) could not see them so after a reboot the bios detected 1 of the 750gbs so I booted into windows and formatted it and now I see it as the D drive but when I click on it, it freezes and makes file explorer not responding, I turned on Intel rapid storage drivers and HDD saver drivers and in the Intel application it can see 3 drive 2 750s and 1 500gb and says they are okay?!?! How can I make theses work for mass storage ?

Thanks James

Solution
Test one drive at a time in the system to see if any/all are good or not. Having all 4 in at once with issues will make it very hard to troubleshoot.

Yeh I see only the 3 in disk management !

Check the BIOS. You may have some of your SATA ports disabled which would account for the other drives not being seen. But yeah you want to run some hard drive tests like Seatools for DOS or Windows to check any drives you think might be bad.

Thanks for the help everyone !!!! found the problem to be that 2 of the drives were broken took apart my PC AGAIN and heard two drives were making alot of noise (very bad sign) so took them out and then was able to correctly partition the other two in disk management and they are all working now THX every one !!!
