Hello

I have a little server configured with an HD as system disk and 2 RAID 1 vectors (on a Promise card).
On the system disk I installed Windows 7 64 Professional.

The problem is that when I start the server, sometimes (and pure randomly) the drives on the RAID seems to be in Read Only mode.
Everytime I reboot, this problem changes: sometimes is only on the 1st vector... sometimes on the 2nd... and sometimes on both. And if I try to reboot, after 2, 3, 4 times the disappears even I don't reboot again.

This happens on a fresh installation of the OS, before and after all the windows update I done. I tried also to update the Promise drivers, but the problem stills.

Any idea?

Thanks

Resource conflict. Go to device manager, view devices by resource. See *what else* is on the SAME IRQ as the promise card...
Move that manually to a different IRQ and don't let windows assign one automatically for that device.

Thanks for the reply, davec... but there are no IRQ conflicts 🙁

On the property page of the Drives, I see non problems on the Write permission. I'm the owner with all rights.

Also doing a check with DISKPART, i don't see problems on write rights:
DISKPART> detail volume

The string in red is not translated (I don't found the english term)... I suppose should be something like "mountable" but I'm not sure. And I don't think could be the problem... or it be?

I'm going crazy!!

Even with the strange translation, that all looks good to me. Wish I could help. Quite a mystery there. Maybe a bad controller card?
