So the issue I'm having is that I had a psu blow up in my system. Replaced it with an equal wattage psu (1000w). But ever since it blew I cant run any kind of game on my system with out the whole thing freezing up and being unresponsive. No amount of time will allow it to unfreeze. I have pulled and tested each ram individually and the issue continues. Ran memtest on all ram and no errors. Ran heaven to test GPU and let it run for 24 hrs with no freezing. The temps in system don't peak over 40c and GPU gets to about 70c. Lost two hard drives to the issue both fried at time of explosion. Zero formatted an old HDd and clean install of windows and drivers. Issue still persists.

Specs:
Mobo- msi 990fxa gaming
CPU- amd 9590 fx black edition
Ram- 4x 8gb vengeance corsair pro series ddr3 2400mhz cmy32gx3m4a2400c11r
Hdd- Seagate 7500rpm 1tb
Psu- cool power 980w 20+4pin connection
GPU- nvidia 1070 gtx

Solution
How are you measuring temperatures? Most software is notoriously incompetent at reading FX temperatures. You want to use AMD Overdrive and read the thermal margin.

It's also possible that the previous PSU caused damage to the motherboard. It's a shockingly dodgy PSU to have been using with this rig! Getting a 9590 to function dependably long-term can be a nightmare even in the best of times. Hopefully the new PSU is of better quality.

Solution
Well it's been running fine for four years. The new one is an evga 850w but I figured the mobo might have been damaged so I'm going to am4 chipset then. Gah expensive upgrade

But a good one!

Unfortunately, dramatic explosions aren't the only way junky power supplies fail. Very frequently, the poor voltage regulation and filtering will simply damage things over time. Eating two pounds of bacon a day of breakfast might not kill you immediately and it might not kill you ever, but the odds are that it's not healthy!

Thanks for the advice
