Hard hang, no stop code

Hi all, I'm having a problem which hopefully somebody can help with. Randomly my PC will freeze (if sound is playing, that sound will loop for a short period of time before stopping) the screen freezes (does not go black, no BSOD).

Here is what I've tried:

- Checked PSU voltages (all within spec)
- Tried different graphics card
- Checked graphics card + CPU are within operating temps
- Completely dusted and rebuilt PC
- Tried different PCI-E slot
- Tried different operating system (Windows 10 + Windows 8.1)
- Reset BIOS

Here are the specifications of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX 6300
GPU: SAPPHIRE DUAL-X R9 280X
MOBO: GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD3
PSU: CORSAIR 600W (Modular)

If anybody could provide some advice, that would be great, thanks in advance.

I'm starting to think it may be the motherboard, it's still in warranty luckily! Does anybody think it could be the same thing?
