Anyone have any similar issue, and have a fix that worked? Ran all troubleshooting, hwinfo, windows diagnostics, updates, etc.....a few other suggestions, all worthless, shows everything working, however PC will freeze as soon as powered on, or sometimes it will run for hours with no issue. Thanks for any help. Its a Dell Inspiron desktop.

PC will freeze as soon as powered on, or sometimes it will run for hours with no issue.
this can be caused by any malfunctioning component(s).
knowing what exactly the system is comprised of is sometimes the only way to diagnose issues.
"Dell Inspiron" doesn't tell us much.
look up the exact model and share the system specs of yours.

it seems the majority of the time with these OEM Dells it is the power supply that begins to deteriorate first.
the fact that it uses a proprietary case with a proprietary PSU, it may not be possible to replace it with a better model. that is probably also the case with the motherboard.

Inspiron 2020, I'm not the greatest with PC knowledge, terms etc...when you say power source, are you referring to the power cable, or components inside of the PC? I ran the Diagnostics that checked all the components, and everything checked okay. Are the on board test not very good, or do they not check what you are referring to? Thanks

the power supply is the component inside of the PC that routes external power to the other components inside of the system.

you can very easily search online for the term "power supply".
Are the on board test not very good, or do they not check what you are referring to?
built-in Windows troubleshooting only runs basic tests to ensure Windows is performing and can communicate with devices.
not for any specific hardware malfunction(s).

lookup the exact model by finding a serial or UPC and searching for that.
then compare it to what parts yours includes.
or find an invoice from the purchase and track that back to the system details.
