I found my old 80gb harddisk, which have been stored in a box for a few years.

Now I want to use it in an old computer as the only drive.
I inserted the disk and wanted to clean it and install windows 10, but using diskpart, the disk shows "Size 0 B"

I tried to "clean" it, but its still 0B, is it broken?

As i remember i encrypted the drive with bitlocker before i stored it, dont know if its important

Hi there Yoshidk,

You can go to BIOS and see how is the drive recognized over there. In case it appears as having 0 B of storage capacity, then the drive is most probably dead. Even when encrypted, I believe the drive should show it's correct capacity under BIOS.

Yes bitlocker is the whole reason. And i dont think you would be able to access the drive without some advanced tools. It seems like you took out the drive while bitlocker was still active.
