Question Harddisk bios swap

Hello,
I had a Samsung hd322hj harddrive which stopped working suddenly after 8 years. I have important data in it. Problem is harddisk drive is not spinning. So, I bought a bf42-283 board from AliExpress. Using that board the drive is spinning. But it is not detected. Head moving ticking sound and repeats. It is mentioned to swap the marvel chip from the original board. After I did that the drive is not spinning again.

Please let me know what to do.

You can try purchasing an identical drive (my searches show them for sale) and switching the single platter from the failed drive to the new drive, and pulling the files from it.

Or....

Send the drive to a data recovery service.

Could we see a detailed photo of the original PCB? The mode of failure may tell us whether the preamp (on the headstack) may have failed.

Keep in mind to backup the data you can not afford to lose regularly, at least two copies on separate media. Start from next drive.

Also run Hard Disk Sentinel as it will detect faults and let you know when errors start occuring.
