Question Harddisk got cyclic redundancy check HELP

Guys I need help , I am not good at computers and my portable hard drive won't let me use it . It shows this error message

I:\ is not accessible
Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)

I really need the data guys , it's my photos since I was a kid and my family photos
It's a old Samsung portable HDD

Irreplaceable files should have three copies, including one that is off-site.

You can try Recuva -- https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva to recover your files. If the files are important enough, then you should send that disk to a data recovery service. It will cost hundreds of $$$, but that is the most surefire way to retrieve your data.

Yup, that's a scary situation to have with irreplaceable data: only a single copy with no backups and on a portable drive, which is more at risk for physical damage, to boot.

I frequently get good results from Recuva. Don't try to use the drive at all otherwise, the more you fiddle with it, the less of a chance there is that a data recovery firm will be able to recover your files. And this will cost money, so be prepared for it; not taking care of data is sadly an expensive lesson in a lot of occasions.
