Harddisk has a bad block causing freezing issues

when i try extracting a rar file = pc freezes
downloading something with IDM the pc freezes at the assembling files after 100%
when trying to CHKDSK it freezes too at step 4 40%
everytime after the freezes i check the event log and it says
"The device, \Device\Harddisk2\DR2, has a bad block."
freeze = almost everything not responding even the task manager but still can move the cursor
can i fix this without changing the hard drive?

i tried the EaseUS partition master and it froze at 54%

Try hard disk sentinel
will let you know how damaged your drive is
Although this is better installed before you have problems, as it detects problems and alerts you to them.

Sounds like a failing hard drive to me. Backup your data ASAP if you can. It's possible it might lock up on you there too.

Also if possible (and after you backed up your data), try running the manufacture disk test utility.

It's a dead disk spinning. I doubt you'll be able to recover all the data off it. In which case, you'll have to seek professional data recovery services. Again, that's assuming you don't already have a backup of it or care to recover the lost data.

At best, it's still covered under warranty and good for a manufacture RMA. Either case, you'll have to replace the drive.

It's been on for 2800+ days = which means over 8 year drive?
I think you have had use out of it. Estimates 4 days left of life.
Glad to see my suggestion helped, sad to see it wasn't the solution 🙁
