Harddisk not recognized in windows 10

I have Dell 980 system with two harddisk. I have upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7 but the secondary harddisk is not recognized at all in windows 10 Whit sata/ata mode. it got recognized with sata/ahci mode but failed to initialize as it gave file not found error.i have tried several combination and reinstalled windows several times due to change in sata modes but my secondary harddisk is giving issue and can't be recognized. is this board controller issue or harddisk issue, it works flawlessly in windows 7. The bios upgraded to latest a18
