I have the server: Dell PowerEdge T20 E3-1225v3 with 4 HDDs in it.
HDD 3 has the letter F.
HDD 4 has the letter G.
They are both: Seagate Archive 6TB.
I was using a FTP server on drive F as a backup, so there's a lot of activity on it.
Drive F started to disappear randomly.. I had to shut down my PC, UNPLUG the AC cord and plug it back and then F would reappear. Just restart would not help!
I switched the FTP backups to drive G and the same problem started with drive G now!
This is happening once a week. I ran tests on both drives, they seem fine.
It has something to do with the high activity for sure (since the problem occures when I am using the drive as a FTP backup).
What could be the reason for it?
