Hi all, i have a WD blue 500gb, it is new from last year but i never opened it nor used it. It was still sealed a couple weeks ago. I installed it in my pc maybe 2 weeks ago and started making whirling sound about a week ago. It soud exacly like a neon but real loud, the thing is when i apply any pressure on the top of the hard drive it stops making the sound until it receives a tiny vibration, then it will starrt again. I was able with an object to keep a pressure on top of it and it seems to work. Do any of you would know what the problem is, and if yes how to solve it for good? The sound might have been there from the begining but i didnt really payed attention until i was trying to sleep and the soud would be to loud and prevent me from falling asleep. Plus, im not always carefull with my things, could this be the result of dropping the hard drive on the floor or anything, i had it for one year without using it, i dont remember if i dropped it or something but that wouldnt surprise me. I think it might be the disk that is loose, is it possible and if yes will that make his life short?
