I need an 8 port network switch for my attic in South Louisiana where the summertime temps exceed 130.

In searching for one online I run across trendnet or blackbox switches that are designed for a rail or rack system. They come with no power supply, and the power supply offered for them is typically a 60 watt unit for a rack system to power several units, and no cabling is included or offered.

Can anyone steer me to a simpler method of installing ONE switch with a power supply in an attic?

I moved my home theater equipment from the living room to a study, and don't really want to terminate all of the cat6 cables in my house in the study or a closet. I would prefer to leave them in the attic.

Thanx

The only ones I know of or had experience with are the Ubiquiti Toughswitch series. They are a little expensive because they are managed POE switches but I know several people who use them in attics.
