so I've realized that when scrolling slowly in Discord, the scrolling motion is not smooth and sometimes the chat feels a little "jumpy" or kind of "jittery" when scrolling up and down; if I scroll fast, I don't notice it but I thought it was a "Discord thing"
I tested in Chrome, mainly with Reddit, and the scrolling was smooth. that's when it clicked to me to mess with Hardware Acceleration: I use HA for Chrome, but I do not use HA for Discord, so I enabled it in Discord and suddenly the scrolling became smooth, with no little jumps/jitters
I disabled HA again and saw it wasn't smooth again. I went to Chrome and disabled Hardware Acceleration, then went onto Reddit and saw the scrolling wasn't smooth as well, so clearly and obvious it's HA that smooths it out (which makes sense). now, I can live with having HA disabled in Discord, but I'm wondering if this is bad?
I know HA allows the application to use your GPU for most of the load, so is it normal for things to be less smooth without it? or does is this mean something could be wrong or "off" with my CPU?
(RTX 3070 and a Ryzen 7 5800x- both are very good but you never know when issues can crop up)
(I'm on Windows 10 obviously; was going to post in either the Graphics Card or CPU forum but didn't seem appropriate)
