Hardware Compatibility and Advice

I am trying to build my first computer and I have gone with these parts:

I was wondering if all of these would be compatible with each other and also any suggestions for parts which would be around or below the current price range.

Just to "beat the neighbor's" computer. I will be doing research with this computer which requires a lot of heavy software which slow down my current computer heavily.

I would go with a xeon processor as I doubt you need the OC ability and it will save you hundreds.

What is the difference between these two types?

Both are 4 core/8 thread CPUs. Xeons are higher binned, more efficient processors designed to run longer periods of time. The i7s are consumer class that usually run a 100-200mhz faster stock. The i7 4770k is also the only overclockable one. That way you can go with a cheaper CPU in a xeon and also a cheaper mobo as you won't need a Z board.
