I am planning to upgrade my current system with just the below 4 components:

AMD FX 8350
Asus M5A97 R2.0
WD 1TB 6.0Gps
Corsair Pro Vengeance 16GB 2133 Mhz

What i would like to know is whether my PSU will support this configuration with additional

DVD Drive
ATI Radeon R9 series Graphics card

My current PSU is Cooler Master RS 600 PCAR E3.

Solution

You should be fine. If it does, then get the Power Supply I recommend by Cooler Master.

Cooler master psus are not reliable except their silent pro series, u need a reliable psu like seasonic 520watts. U have not mentioned the exact model of ur card so if it is 290/290x then u need more than 600watt but always get seasonic, corsair, antec, xfx power supplys.

That model may be unreliable nowadays. Get the V-Series PSUs. They are very good. I have one in my other rig and works very well.

I have been using this PSU for 5 yrs and wanted to check if the upgraded configuration would support the existing PSU due to cost factor? Is upgrading the PSU just a suggestion or a requirement?
Also my graphics card is R9 270x

You probably will be fine. As long as your PSU still works l then I suppose your fine. In my shoes, I would definitely get a newer one. You will never know when it will die. Surprisingly your has lasted longer than most would expect.

So it has shutdown randomly at times? If so buy the PSU I recommended. Its cheap and gets the job done.
