Hi Guys!

I want to built a new computer for 3d Modelling, Rendering and post production. I use mainly 3Max(Vray for Rendering) Rhino and Photoshop. I do architectural design and visualization. Mainly stills, drawings and also short animations(not too often). I need a smooth running system on design phase and faster rendering speeds.

I was told that the key for quick rendering in Vray is CPu. High processing power with highest ram possible.

I wanna go with:

i7-4960X

and RampageIVExtreme Intel X79 Soket 2011

I wanna max out the memory and fill all 64.

I am blank after this point though as I don't know much about the graphics cards and hardware in general. Could you advice me on this? Is there an advantage of using dual sli for graphics card? I heard that the titans are very good but I am not sure. Please Let me know what is good for my specifications. I would really appreciate.

My budget is around $5000 I can go higher if it really worths it. Looking forward to your replies. Thanks.

you can start from here

Hi Thanks for your answers as my budget is around 5000. would I benefit from dual sli graphics card given the software I use and specs. How can I put the 10% difference between 4930K and 4960X on a scale? is it 10% faster? Might it worth the investment? Thanks all in advance.

Regarding the GPU. Vray now has this vray rt option that uses gpu rendering as far as I am aware of.However I haven't made use this intensively in the past and sticked with standart vray rendering which is cpu( Correct me if I am wrong). For me GPU would allow me to design and model complex geometries faster which would be very handy for me. And perhaps continue modelling while rendering. Is this possible with dual sli? Thanks all!!

You can go with dual Titan build but not sure will dual Titan benefit in your programs but within your budget also i added 4930k because 10% is not worth ~500$ but you still can change thing in this build!
