hardware Divx encoder

Just saw this in a catalog today :

How nice to see hardware tools finally coming out for Divx. Finally.

And nice to see Divx talked about in terms of creating ones own movies,
as opposed to the peer-peer pirated stuff.

If you go to http://www.videohelp.com/capturecards and do a search
after checking the mpeg-4 checkbox, you get a list of cards (Plextor
included) that capture mpeg-1, -2, & -4. Comments on them are not very
good. There is the Darim Mpegator, which should be good -it needs be,
at $1700

OK, thanks, I wasn't aware of that. I only saw it in a catalog and thought
I would pass the link along. I'm not in the market for such a product
myself...

Well, I found that myself a couple of days ago. Looks like the major
problems come from the bundled software rather than the cards
themselves (nothing new under the sun), so there's still hope.
