On a Windows XP, I've been using dial up (56KBPS) connection (MSN) forever and has been suitable since I only use the internet for Emails and paying bills. I don't browse the internet world. Since Windows XP will soon not be serviced by Microsoft, I bought a Microsoft Windows 8 Laptop. A neighbor loaned me his Verizon 2 Meg "detached modem" and I like it. What hardware do I need to use on the Desktop XP to go WIFI? Yje simpler the better. I assume I can plug some kind of a "router into a USB" and place a wireless Modem at a window. What is the actual names of the hardware for my goal. I look at ads and listings and they are written for computer geeks so I don't understand what to buy and then how I connect with a WIFI service. My neighbor's is VERIZON and I get strong signal so I would like to stay with them. Thanks
