Hardware Reserved RAM 24GB

Hello all;

I've checked (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1694156/hardware-reserved-ram-8gb.html) and have not found relief.

I found that my original RAM was not on the supported list. I updated the BIOS, and purchased compatible RAM, but it keeps getting eaten up! I'm showing 21GB reserved, 1.8 in use, 1.3 standby, 18MB free.

I'm going crazy here, can you help?

Remove your 2x4GB kit and have your 2x8GB kit on slots 2 and 4. Furthermore can you include your OS? Have you tried reinstalling your OS to rule out any corruption in files? Try retrieving the ram by getting into start>type msconfig(elevated rights)>boot tab>advanced options>maximum memory(check box and click up until all the ram is available). You can also try downgrading your BIOS if at 1.60 to 1.50 or 1.30 and see if the issue is averted.

Please don't mix and match two different kits onto one system that runs off dual channel memory technology. You are only introducing more problems to the table than you already have to deal with. Your 8GB kit is rated to run at 1600MHz while the 16GB kit is slated to run at 1333MHz forget about the internal timings and voltages for now.
