If you don't already know there is an update of Harpoon 97 called Harpoon Gold
2002 which you can download from:

http://www.advancedgaming.biz/Products/HC/HC02GOLD_DOWNLOAD.htm

Both demo and full version at a reasonable price.

They've also produced a dramatic upgrade to Harpoon 2 for the PC, called
Harpoon 3, which is so good that a professional version is being contracted
to international navies. They're currently at work on a multi-player version
of this. See www.harpoon3.com

There are very active communities of players supporting both Harpoon 2002
and Harpoon 3, though there seems to be a fierce division between the two
games' respective advocates.

I play Harpoon 3 'cause I like the interface better than 2002, but I can't
speak to the differences under the hood.
