Hi just as ive picked my perfect part list, everyone of my friends is now saying i should get the Ryzen 5, Ive had a look but dont know what one i would get and if my parts would need changing

The computer is mainly being used for Photoshop, Coding, Programming, Basic Video Editing(Maybe Never just incase), Dual Monitors, and very basic gaming!

Just want to be able to code, design, and play music at the same time, also play Runescape (That i think is mainly CPU based)

This is my current list

All feedback is appriciated

Thanks

If i was to go for the Ryzen, should i expect build cost to go up?

Ryzen doesn't under perfom for Video editing, coding or any design or basic gaming. But that being said i do think you have a solid built that will work well. Yes you could change it to a 6 core / 12 thread ryzen for about the same money, and depending on your coding or video editing, that will run faster on 12 threads than 4 intel threads. You would have to change CPU and Motherboard, all your other parts would work just fine.

Thanks for that, to be honest i didnt want to spend as much money as my current build, would a A10 perform for what i want?, I was thinking of the Ryzen just because its the latest technology and i want this build to last a few years, I wouldnt mind building a A10 Build and then maybe upgrading in a year or so

I can't recommend that honestly, because you have no upgrade path with the A10. If you go with Kaby Lake or even the lowest Ryzen you have some option, A10 is a dead platform, and that CPU doesn't have a lot of muscle for any serious coding / rendering. It would save you a few bucks though.

even an intel 4th gen CPU a PC like that would last a few years. but an AMD A10 is old tech and would get outperformed by the 7500 you've chosen

Your gaming just went down the drain with that setup, the internal GPU on A10 can only handle so much. A dedicated GPU like the AMD 460 is several times faster. Also its a slow harddrive, no SSD. It won't be a very snappy system. IF you want budget and don't want to wait for the low end ryzen, look into a intel I3 setup perhaps.

If you want to spend as little as possible then just go for a pentium g4560 build mate.

You're at least then on a fully upgradeable platform .

That said if you want to spend the £600 budget from your first post then the ryzen 1600 is currently £204 on amazon (mine has just been ordered 5 minutes ago).

And the G4560 is better than the A10? , Am i right in thinking this gives me the upgrade path of maybe a I5 or i7 at some point?, I take it theres only so much upgrade you can do before the motherboard needs changing, sorry for noob replies but never built a computer before and want to make sure i get as much right as i can, as ive got to buy monitors and everything.

Is the G4560 adequate for what i want? I know its hard to say but from what ive said ill be doing should i handle it ?

Thanks Matt

Madmatts build is solid for a budget rig, i think it will perform well for the money you sink into it, and you got an upgrade path. Later down the road you can upgrade the CPU and get yourself a SSD for some more performance.

Ok thats great, think ill be purchasing tonight, just a few more questions and you's probably are like WTF is he on about but, WIth the board youve picked matt has 2 ram slots, whats the diffrence between that and Gigabyte GA-B250M-DS3H for the extra 5 pound for the Gigabyte, am i still better with yours? Also would i be better with the Asus RX 460 in the first build i had for the extra 10 pound?

So just to say i Didnt mind spending 400 is there anything you would change matt?

The pentium is a far better 'CPU' than that a10.
& yes it puts you on a kaby lake platform meaning any i5/i7 released in the last & the next 2 years will drop straight in.

For 2 years the amd apu's were the low budget kings , the release of those hyper threaded pentiums not long ago changed all that.

I would swap the pau for that corsair cxm450 you had in your first build , for £6 more its just a rock solid option with a 5 year warranty.
It'll also power just about any future CPU/GPU combination you could care to think of.

Ok brilliant, I dont really understand the Boards tbh, is there not much diffrence apart from it allowing 4 ram slots?

a 4 slot motherboard will give you a better upgrade path if you want to add more ram plus it will not have to work as hard as a 2 slot motherboard where you would have all ram slots filled which will extend the life of the board

^ no mate none , you'll be using the video outputs on the 460 for dual screens anyway.

Little bit off kilter here mate (& there is a proper sales section here )

BUT

I have a brand new sealed i5 6500 retail sat here which I'm not going to be using I don't think.
If you're interested at all £110 delivered & its yours.

No presssure there mate but its being sold anyway so thought you may be interested.
