has any one used an HD 7470 gpu

Apologies, but I'm going to be blunt.

No, that card is terrible for gaming. Providing you are talking about decent gaming that is. You could probably run Tomb Raider 2 on it. (Which is and always will be a beast of a game.) 🙂

Here is a benchmark:

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/video_lookup.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+7470&id=298

For reference, my GTX 670 scores over 5,000 points, and even I struggle to run games like Crysis 3 and Far Cry 3 at times. Even if you were planning on running at the lowest resolution and the lowest settings I would strongly advise against this card.

If you would like to state a budget I would be happy to help you pick a card however...

sadly i have an HP dc5850 small form factor pc and i need a card thats able to run resident evil 5 on at least medium settings at 800x600 screen res i dont really need a low profile gpu as i run my pc with the case open and id prefer a gpu i can buy off ebay as im poor and low on funds for a few months and my current HD6450 sux

Seems to be an OEM graphics card. Not much better than the HD7450 which is basically a Re-branded HD6450. For gaming its utter crap unless you're planning on gaming at low resolutions (1024x768) with medium settings.

well at 800x600 with all; setting set to low or medium and AA and shadows turnbed off i get a steady 50 frames per second do you think this card will run re 5 at playable frame rates also whats the difference between the 7470 and the 7470M i read a post on another forum where a guy started he could play RE5 on his 7470m at medium settings heres the post he made in brief detail

Hi,

Any idea if Hard Reset will run smooth on my laptop (demo is to big for download at the moment).

My laptop:
i3 @ 2,3 Ghz
HD 7470M 1GB VRAM
4GB RAM
Win 7 64Bit

For example, Resident Evil 5 runs pretty smooth at high details with AA and AF.
Thanks for your help.

No. I was able to get 24-27 fps on resident evil 5 with my old pentium 4 and 8500gt. OP can run the game on medium settings on 1280x720 or at 1024x768 provided he has a decent CPU. 30+ fps for sure
