Has anybody used an SSD for Windows XP?

And did you face any problem with it over the years?

The reason I ask is I have an old laptop with windows XP. It is not made for 7.

With a 5400 rpm drive, it's kind of slow. I want to use an SSD for the OS drive and the HDD in the caddy.

Has anyone done this?

Yes I have as well, you will have to set your partition offset manually however as XP sets it to 63KB by default iirc. It needs to be set at some number divisible by four....1024KB works great. If you don't do this you will slow the drive down and cut it's lifespan greatly. I remember doing it by booting to a command prompt via the install CD and running Diskpart from there.
