I'm trying to build an AMD system and for budget reasons I'm trying to buy the motherboard (Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P), PSU (Corsair VS550) and RAM (Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB kit) from a German company called computeruniverse.net

I've read a lot of reviews and they are mostly mixed and mostly concerning other electronics so I'm not sure to buy or not.

If anyone has had experience with them I'd be really grateful if someone could share.

Hello.

What country are you from? If you are within EU, then computeruniverse won't be cheaper. If you are from Russia, then it's a good deal, as you can import goods for up to 1000 euros per month without paying taxes.

I have made three orders from the website, in three years, total amount is about 3000 euros. I am very satisfied with the service. The only thing you have to be aware is shipping time. It could be as long as a month.

And I would really suggest you go with intel, you can build better machine for same price.

P.S. My thid order is still on its way.

I live in Albania so I'm out of EU and taxes don't apply. I'm going with AMD because I don't have any plans for upgrading and with an FX 6300 + R9 280X I think I'm gonna get a good 3+ years or more since I'm gonna use a 900p monitor.

Thanks a lot for your reply, I think I'm gonna order from them.

CPU - AMD FX 6300 @3.5GHz
GPU - Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OC/ XFX Radeon 280X DD (haven't decided which one yet)
MOBO - GIGABYTE GA 970A UD3P
MEMORY - Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3 kit (2x4GB)
STORAGE - 1 120GB SSD Samsung 850 Evo, 1 WD Caviar Blue 500 HDD that I had from my previous build.
PSU - Corsair VS550W
HEATSINK - Cooler Master Hyper 212 (also from my last build)

I'll buy the parts from ebay and computeruniverse.net and the total build cost is about 570$ (USD) which is as close as I could get to the pcpartpicker cost.

The VAT is excluded from the product cost because the items will travel to a non EU country but when they enter in Albania, if the price of a shipment exceeds 156$ I have to pay a fee equal to 20% of the shipment value.

All in all I think this is a solid build for my needs but I'd like to know your suggestion.

Yes, your build looks pretty decent.

I would recommend this, or even switch to DDR4 memory.

Much appreciated, will certainly look into it :)

Don't buy anything there they're selling broken stuff. I bought Asus motherboard
for about €500 and they sent me defected board that didn't worked from the first day. I sent it back so they can replace it with new one(like I was told in Asus support) but they sent same defected board with same serial. It didn't worked again so I returned it again. I asked them to send the board to Asus service so professionals can check what is wrong but they ignored that request. They said that they checked the motherboard and noticed bent pins although they don't have serviceman in the house and then they canceled the warranty. Don't buy anything there there is a lot of similar experiences with this shop. Just check

BTW, customer support is rude and of no help, you got to wait for the answer for five days.

Thanks for the reply, I learned my lesson bought 3 items from them they never arrived had to open a dispute with paypal to get my money back because they wouldn't respond to my email. Never dealing with them again.

Yes, unfortunately it seems that everyone must pass through their own experience. I'm posting this to all relevant forums because I want that people know how Computer Universe is doing business and how they cheat on their customers.

Wow! I seem to be lucky then! As I have already said, I have placed multiple orders with total amount of several thousands of Euros. Not a single problem. The shipping is slow, but everything is packed good, arrived to the right place, and working well till now. They also always respond to my requests within 1-3 days.

I am sorry to hear that, also I am sorry for giving you a good response about the shop, it was honest though. Were your money returned in the very end? What items did you order?
