Hey all,
So as the question asks, has anyone changed a PSU fan before? Is it accepted as something ok to do? My PSU could be quieter, and i would like to replace the original fan with a Noctua one. Some advice would be great if uv done this before, thanks

There are other things to consider: how old is the PSU, is it a quality unit, is it worth changing out the fan?

If you understand what a capacitor is and what it does and how to discharge one you have the knowledge to do the job if you still want to. Then consider if you have the tools to do the job.

Otherwise, shop for a new one.

Hi,

no, dont know how to discharge a capacitor.....i have built around 20 pcs, done the odd bit of modding, endlessly swapped out parts etc..
I currently have https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-G...igabyte+b700h+psu&qid=1605015412&sr=8-1-fkmr1 (Gigabyte B700H) which is roughly 1 year old. After years of noise in the background with humming from fans, i have swapped most out for Noctua's, and wanted to go all in.
