Has anyone here overclocked their laptop?

This is not me asking how to do it, or how to get past a dell/hp motherboard. I'm simply curious to know if anyone had tried/suceeded.

I think that out of all of the tom's hardware overclockers, someone is likely to have done it.

I've done it, but it ran quite toasty. Make sure there's no dust in the heatsinks, and make sure that it has adequate airflow.

My lappy burned itself out at stock...

Though my cather does have a Core2Duo lappy... he doesn't need that $200 warranty he paid for right?

I regulary overclock my dell studio 17, but thats the GPU 3670 not the CPU, i use AMDGPU tool for this, adn it makes a great third Lan machine for Most games, also as a third LOTRO machine for when my Brother comes down and there is three people playing at once,

would be quite carefull overclocking the CPU, I know it can be done, but doubt the Heatsink and fan unit will deal with the extra heat well!

i have. not a lot of headroom because of heat (it was a S754 AMD 3000+ Clawhammer)

I have seen on other PC and Web news pages. There is a place to make a custom laptop you pick the motherboard, Cpu, Ram, and other devices put in it.
