Has anyone used thermoengine socket 370 coolers as northbridge cooler?

back in the early 2000, these were famous for starting the use of "heatpipe" technology in CPU cooling (from what I remember).

I'm just wondering what is there performance when used as northbridge coolers.

If you are using one as a northbridge cooler, please reply:
- with feedback on performance
- if you are using the fan it came with

I want to run them fanless in an HTPC.

thanks for the help :)

I would think that if you could install with a retention system, something like this would be a decent way to cool a NB. Now, I question that it will make a lot of difference when compared to a typical NB cooler from say, Thermaltake or other brand which WOULD have specific retention design for a NB cooler. Either way, I am an advocate for anything better for cooling is better...regardless.

Pssstt....watercooling is generally pretty quiet if you run fans with a controller. :)
