Has my Graphics Card broken?

Hey everyone,

Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong place or breaking any rules - I'm not too well versed with this site but I thought I would ask for some advice anyway.

Essentially, I was doing nothing out of the ordinary on my PC when the screen suddenly changed to a complete striped-yellow display, then to a striped-blue display. I powered off the PC and tried to reboot. After some research, I found that the PC wasn't passing the POST (?) test, and my motherboard was making long, single beeps to signify this.

After a little more research, I re-seated each RAM stick and cleaned the sockets and surrounding areas. When I tried to boot this time, the POST test was passed but the screen stayed on it's stripey-blue stage.

I then attempted to clean the GFX card and re-seated it, and tried again. Same result, passed the POST test, but screen is blue and stripey.

I am just looking for confirmation that this is a GFX card issue or if it could be something else, just so I don't make any impulsive/panic buys for no reason.

I can provide pictures if needed and if it's any help, my GFX card is a Radeon HD 6970 and my Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-X58-UD5. Pretty sure the monitor isn't busted since I can read the "no signal" prompts, when nothing is attached, just fine.

Once again sorry if this is against any rules or just generally stupid!

Maybe a bad card, maybe the power supply also, although card is most likely. If you can, test it in another system with a good power supply, or try another card in yours.
