I keep getting one Windows update that fails repeatedly (KB5034441), and in researching, it looks like this has been an issue for several months with no fix. In reading, it looks like the only way to correct it is to use a repartition tool to free some some more space in the reserved section.

Anyone have any news on this or has MS tried to even address it? Is it worth going through the repartition process just for this (which makes me a bit wary). I could always hide it, but wanted to see how other's have handled it.

like you said, it´s not resolved yet.
if you don´t use bitlocker, you can hide this update.

eventually you can try this:
check windows integrity
open the command prompt as administrator and type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

clean boot
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

try updating

as you already know, this script could solve the issue as a workaround:

Microsoft just admitted that they can't fix this issue.

From Microsoft:
Automatic resolution of this issue won't be available in a future Windows update. Manual steps are necessary to complete the installation of this update on devices which are experiencing this error.

I ran across the issue on one system and fixed it by manually doing the steps. I'm not sure of the exact instructions that I used but the instructions are available in multiple places such as this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...e-update-400faa27-9343-461c-ada9-24c8229763bf

The update was to fix a bypass for BitLocker. I assume that if you don't use BitLocker, there's no need to install it anyway. A full wipe and reinstall of the latest ISO should also work, but that's an extreme fix.

Edit: I just did a reinstall with the 22H2 ISO and had the issue. I fixed it with the above instructions.
