Has the laser and heat issues on Slimline PS2 been resolve..

My local Wal-Mart has finally got some new ones in for the first time since
mid November..Are these new ones still prone to these issures? I wanted to
find out before I upgrade from the regular ps2..TIA

I've not seen any heat issues with the new slim unit. It does have
issues with the laser burning out but that's not heat related. Also,
they still blow the laser out if the unit is dropped.

My personal slim has been in use since they've been out and has had
sessions as long as 4 hours straight without any problems.
