Has there been another unstable security update for Win7?

I recently installed a package of Win7 security updates about a week ago. Suddenly this week I have been getting BSODs. The first occurred early in the the week after I logged on. Then today I had two occur back to back while attempting to shut down. Haven't experienced this for over a year when I was getting conflicts with the Nvidia GeForce Experience utility which I uninstalled (as I am not a gamer) and never had another BSOD episode until now.

Solution
Seems like there could be a bad update. I tried deleting a two-week-old restore point earlier and got BSOD and I'm running Windows 8.1. It was only an isolated incident, though. If there are enough complaints, Microsoft usually recalls bad updates.

...yes I am familiar with that one. Actually didn't install it. Also have dedicated graphics (Nvidia 460) so it probably would not have affected me anyway. The one incident I could understand (Installed a CUDA update several weeks ago that also reinstalled the GeForce Experience app which I deleted again). However today's were rather disconcerting especially since the occurred back to back while trying to shut the system down.

Will have to look at the error logs to see what the culprit might be.
