Question Has Windows 10 Pro Edu discontinued?

Hi,
I have Acer 117MP notebook which came with Windows 10 Pro OEM Key in BIOS. This was way back in 2016.
Later when I upgraded my Windows 10 on it to the next release (May be in 2017) the License was automatically converted to Windows 10 Pro Edu on its own without me touching anything anywhere.

This continued for a while. Recently I did a clean install of Windows 10 22H2 on it. I was expecting that Windows installer will automatically pick up the key from BIOS (No ei.cfg or Pid file ever created in installer) but it did not. It halted at a screen where I need to choose the edition of Windows to install.
That was surprising and ever more that there was no Pro Edu version listed anywhere.

I reluctantly choose Windows 10 Pro and after getting connected to Internet, I have a genuine digital license reinstated but now for Windows 10 Pro rather than Pro Edu.
Does anyone have any idea what's happening, has MS Converted Pro Edu to just Pro licenses now?

download win10 pro edu as ISO and use Rufus to create an USB flashdrive to install from it

My guess is that the Edu version of windows now is WIndows 11 Education since Microsoft released a new version of windows, they won't continue the old

No, Win 10 Pro EDU is not discontinued yet.

It follows regular Win 10 lifecycle.

Windows 10 Home and Pro - Microsoft Lifecycle

Windows 10 Home and Pro follows the Modern Lifecycle Policy.

So why did my Windows 10 Pro change to Pro Edu in 2017 and now back to Pro in 2023?
I still have the same key in BIOS and all that changed is the ISO over a period of time!
I am happy with pro., that's not an issue. There are very minor differences between Pro & Pro Edu as such.
This is more from understanding point of view.

Edit 1----

I carried out some tests in VM. I still have original 1909 ISO. That one shows Pro Edu as available edition to install, but when I run 22H2 installer, Pro Edu is no longer available.

So it seems 22H2 automatically accepts Pro Edu OEM Key as Pro only.

Thats a very good question. I cannot think of why it might have done that.
