haswell cpu vs ivy bridge?

Cant decide on what cpu to go for Haswell or Ivy bridge
the 1150 mother boards or nice looking
the 1155 ones Can't seem to find a good one with pci 3.0
also Haswell needs a new Power supply in I rather keep my 430 wat psu

I Just don't want to buy a high end psu for 99 bucks My budget is around $500

The Haswell is the option that will likely last longer. It performs better at lower clock rates, but the ivy bridge could overclock higher. Both are great, I would take the Haswell for it's features.

Get Haswell, because it is a new, not dead socket like Ivy bridge is.

Haswell can work 100% on your PSU. You just need to disable the c6/c7 sleep state in the BIOS. Easy.

Also a 500w QUALITY PSU that fully supports Hsswell can be had for $50.

The XFX 550 PSU is pretty good and you could find it for like $30 sometimes on sales Also I choose the Haswell, but get an h97/z97 board so you could upgrade to a Broadwell Xeon 4c/8t cpu

I know very well about that list. I help sort out what goes where. I also know that the XFX is a better PSU, but the two cheapest versions of it are NOT Haswell fully compatible. It is not usually easy to find the Haswell compatible one for $50 without rebates.

Get an h97 board for that CPU, not a Z97.

I have used that case and it is definitely a solid choice.

For the price of that GPU, get an r9 270. Much better performance.

Really any brand is good. ASRock has a very good budget h97 board. Grab whichever has the features and ports you want.
