i'm pretty sure that once you get above level 5, it no longer goes all the
way down to 1... you can still loose levels, but just one or two at a time.

'course, you never gain much in the way of levels from the lab - i'm
currently training my lab pet up to lv 110 just so i can train defence which
never seems to gain at all. wish i had thought to do it before hp went so
high.

Am I the only one who enjoys the lab for the species and colour changes
rather than for trying to get stats?

Well the species and colour changes are a mixed blessing. When I got the
labray I had three unpainted pets. I picked one for labrat and poof
eventually he turned a colour I liked too much to lab again, so I moved on
to the next one and that recently happened there too. Now I am on my last
one and I don't know what I will do if I wind up with a good colour. Sigh.

I could live without the speices changes though. I liked the species my pets
were and now only the one I never labbed is still what they started out as.

No... if I had the lab map, all I would use it for is the species and colour
changes. Hey, speaking of that extra 'u' in color, has anyone seen or heard
from Rich G. lately? I miss his posts.

There is no way to loose levels.

I'm not picking on you in particular, Jessie, but I have to get this

loose = not tight
lose = misplace or have taken away
looser = not as tight as
loser = people who stress over this stuff (ie, me)

No you are not. As much as I enjoy STR, HP and levels on my fighting
pet, nothing tickles me as much as when he poofs into something
completely new. Although glowing gelert is starting to grate on me a
bit...

I like the changes too. I don't care too much for stats. A different color
pet every day, that is what I want :).

That is a problem. On my other account I just zap pets from the pound and
put them back when they look nice, so that somebody else can have a painted
pet too.
But on my main account I have four pets of which I have chosen the names and
I want to keep them. One is now a Sketch Tuskaninny and I hope he will
change soon. I don't like Tuskaninnies :).

I once had one that became a Desert Usul, looked nice. And then I wanted to
transfer her to another account, but this went wrong, somebody else adopted
her first. So I don't know what I will do in the future. Such a waste of all
those NP if you can't use the labray anymore.

Right, I understand that, what I was meaning is that those are the only features
that I would be interested in since I don't battle and don't really care about
most of the stats of my pets.

Unfortunately its random what it does to your pets, you dont get to
choose... Color changes are rare, so when my Kacheeck went fire on day 7 I
was shocked!

Do you know if that's confirmed? I'm hoping to start zapping a high-ish
level pet (level 35 is high for me) and I'd hate to lose all those levels!

I have the lab map on my other account - got it ages ago when it was
practically free LOL. But I'm too scared to transfer my pets from my main
account. I lost my uni once (thankfully the person who nabbed her was nice
and gave her back) - don't want to have that happen again! 🙁

I read it somewhere, of course I can't find it *anywhere* now, sorry. All
I've found was a random person's petpage saying that higher-level pets are
'immune' to it.
I remember that after reading it I did train my pet up past level 5 and it
didn't happen anymore - trained it a bit higher for a safety buffer, so it
could be level 10 that the immunity kicks in but i'm pretty sure it was 5. I
know it hasn't happened to me since, and I've been zapping for a year or
two.
Level 35 is high! My lab pet is only at 25 even though I'm training his
levels again! It's very expensive... and not getting any cheaper. 🙁
Doesn't help when you train one level and he loses two to the lab, either.

I have a friend who gets the "down to level 1" thing every other day. I
think she lost 31 levels once, so, yes, it is much more than level 5.
