I have 16GB RAM and an i7 processor. Macbook used to run so fast even with lots of large programs open and half the drive filled up.
I have a 40GB in my ~/Library/Caches, if this is slowing it down why?
Shouldn't be; SSDs don't get slow until at least 80 percent. What model SSD do you have (or is it the one that came with it)? Have you done an OS update recently?
I don't know the make of my SSD but I know I have 40GB in ~/Library/Caches . I don't want to delete my browsing history and I know most of that is from other programs. Could this be it? I upgraded to Mojave back around July but it was already very slow before then. I have seven background programs running after start up but they take up very little RAM and I find them very useful. Could this be playing a bigger part?
