Have an issue with overclocking 670

I am trying to currently overclock my graphics card, the Gigabyte Windforce 2x, (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125438) and i'm having this weird problem. I am using MSI Afterburner to overclock it and Furmark. The stock clock speed and memory speed on this GPU is 941 MHZ and 1502 MHZ, respectivly. But, if i were to increase the clock speed by any amount, it would actually DECREASE the clock speed to about 900 MHZ. I have no idea why its doing this. My build right now is a i5 3570k, an Asus P9Z77-V LE Plus, a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO, a Crucial M4 128Gb, a Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200 RPM hard drive, a Corsair HX850 PSU and a CoolerMaster HAF XM. If it helps, my CPU is overclocked to 4.5 GHZ at a voltage of 1.2.

Accidently clicked submit instead of preview, only the first sentence of my post was submitted. I looked at that tutorial already. The issue im having is that the clock speeds for my 670 actually go down when overclocking, below the stock speed, to 900 MHZ for some reason.

Are the clock speeds going back up when you have a game open? Or Furmark?

No, it stays at 940 MHZ, even in Furmark and while i ngame, though when i attempt a overclock, but when I leave it at stock clocks, it stays at 970 MHZ.

gtx 6xx cards arent the same to overclock as the older cards. they have a "boost clock" which is what you increase with msi afterburner. You can actually achieve a higher boost clock by keeping temps under 70c and increasing the power limit in msi afterburner. increasing core speed without increasing power limit can give negative results, as hitting the power limit throttles it back, as do temps over 70c. best do some reading there is a lot of info out there about it. and also when you get stuck and realise you cant increase voltage, then you need to BIOS mod it with Kepler Golden Bios mod, it is the only way to actually increase core voltage and allows higher power limit to 150%.
