Have an old pc eone machine with win98

Hello,
I can not get out of this safe mode like screen
I've tried everything I can I want to install 98SE but can't because the button to play the cd player is not present in this mode?

I am confused. What does the CD player have to do with installing Win98se?

Also, what are you really trying to do? Upgrade from Win98 to Win98se? Do you have a driver disk for your computer?

yes I'm trying to upgrade to 98se somehow I seem to need the cd rom to install the cd that has the win98se on it?

If you can still boot to your old copy of Windows do that, then insert the Win98se CD and autorun will start the upgrade.

Thanks for your help, I got out of safe mode, now the cd rom is not working??? when I go to into device manager
it says cdrom "not ready"
