Have decided on new graphics card, yet unsure if my computer is compatible

Hello!

I've decided to upgrade my computer by getting a new graphics card. I've decided to get:

It should fulfill my needs.

I think it's compatible with my computer, yet I don't know much about computers . Therefore I'm wondering if you could help me by telling me if it's compatible with my specs.

I didn't see any option to attach files, so I've linked my DxDiag.

The Dxdiag doesn't quite tell enough for this request.

Effectively, you have a CPU which is generally a good combination with the RX580 (albeit the 2600k is a very old architecture now, but it does keep up). The important thing to consider is that your motherboard has a spare PCIe x16, and that your PSU is enough to power you machine with the new GPU.

The hardware(i7-2600k/16gb RAM) should support it fine. You can get it, that is, if you manage to find one at reasonable price. Most of the 580s are out of stock or overtly inflated.

Thank you for the quick answer. I tried to look up if I have a free PCIe x16, I then found a program called CPU-Z. I think it tells me that I have a PCIe x16 that my graphics card is currently using:

?

I'll try to look up if I have enough energy - although that seems more difficult.

Most of todays motherboards comes with PCIe16 slots. Dont bother about that as you already have a graphics card(AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series) rocking on that slot.

You can check the label on the back of your PSU unit, in order to find the details. Or you can quote the make/model/variant here and we can figure out the rest.
