I already purchased a 1070, which I'm going to return, but I'm not sure if I should grab the 1080 or Vega. The vega would cost a lot more for less performance so I'd rather get the 1080.
its not like 1080p its bad but 4K gaming PC its not there yet dont burn your money get cheaper gpu just not a factory OC version , better monitor with 144 refresh rate you tank me later
For 4k @60fps, you will need 1080 ti whose AMD equivalent is vega 64 and that is why it is much more expensive than 1080... 1080 ti is the one.
Do I need to have 60fps? I don't mind having lower than 60fps though and the ti is too expensive. Also the Vega doesn't even stand up to the 1080 so I doubt it's comparable to the ti
My bad, 1080 is the equivalent to vega 64. Too many gpu names. If you are willing to accept ~30 or so fps, you can try 1080. Fps is up to you
Ha np. Pretty sure I wouldn't mind 30 since I've been playing consoles mainly. I'm just not sure if the experience of playing without freesync on would suck or not since this is my first build and I'm fairly new to PC gaming.

I ended up doing this with a 1440p 144hz monitor but upgraded my GPU to a GTX 1080 (came out to the same price as a 1070 FTW2 at full price plus 2 free games. 4k just too much of a hassle right now.
