Have GTX 970 and 4790k and want best Z97 motherboard under $300 to play 4k

Hi everyone, I am looking to game in 4k and need the right mobo to set things in motion. Have one 970 for now on back-order and will buy a couple more next year when 4k is more relevant. So I am looking for a TRI-SLI mobo with the best value in specs and quality - basically I want it all. lol.

Can someone point towards a few models so I can do more research and read reviews?

My complete build budget is $2k with i7-4790k.

Doesn't do tri-SLI though...

Need to go for a different platform to be honest. If you are stuck with the i7-4790k see below, otherwise look at Haswell-E X99 boards and processors.

I have read too many problems with X99 mobo to go that route so I am sticking with the 4790k. I can probably deal with 2x SLI for now and next year get 2 more for Quad SLI.

Pretty sure that the 970 only supports 3-way SLI, but not sure about how many the cpu can handle as it lists "Up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8/2x4"

Thanks everyone for your help, I am returning the 4790 and staying with my current CPU for now with the 970 (still on back order - ARGHHH). I just can't afford the large investment in myself with a whole family to buy gifts just a couple months away. Thanks again and Happy Holidays
