[SOLVED] Have I burnt my CPU?

Hi,
About a week ago I was needing to swap out my cpu with another system due to a compatability issue with the mobo and the GPU and I had messed up the installation of the CPU (i5-2400) and bent the pins on the mobo, (this isn't the problem as I'm getting a new mobo) and as I was looking into the CPU I realized that there were these black spots dotted around the CPU, is this a case of the CPU being burnt or is it oil and possibly thermal compound from my fingers? (This might be because there was a excessive amount of CP when I removed the CPU that may have gotton onto the underside of the CPU during removal.

Not necessarily, some discoloration always happen, problem is that you can't know until you try it.

Those contacts look dirty. Clean them carefully.
Use a q-tip, put a drop of tooth paste onto it.
