Oh man, today has been a rough day. I think next time I'll send my PC off somewhere whenever I want a new part installed. I would love your guys help in possibly indemnify img the problems and finding solutions if there are any.

So, here's what happened: Removed my old i5 processor and tried to install a new i7. Unfortunately, I'm stupid and my motherboard is not actually comparable with that i7. So I took it out and one of the corners bent. That really sucked, but at least I have my old one I thought. But then I put the old i5 in, attach my new cooler I bought for the i7 (hyper master 212) and I'm getting that same 'please check display cord' error on my monitor. Just wondering what I did to cause this and if there's any solution. Also, is my i7 ruined now or is there any way to fix it?

Would really really love some help with this. Thanks.

Solution
you should see if your motherboard does any beep errors. And start there. If no beeps . Then perhaps going barebones and slowly isolate each component to see if one is bad. Maybe try clearing the cmos too. As for the i7, it depends on what exactly the bends look like. Hope this helps. Oh and also don't forget to check the socket for damage and try reseating the chip

Changing those types of Intel CPUs is a delicate operation. I suggest watching some you tube videos of installing one.

Always refer to the published motherboard CPU Support List before installing a CPU.

You may be able to straighten pins with an X-Acto Knife.
