Have the Mods "made bail" yet?

It took a while but my wife final bailed me out of jail... It was epic and hopefully Reyond will get the video up on YouTube soon enough... I'm asking Marcus, if we can make the video an "official" news story!! "Moderators Gone Wild!!"

Yup. I've been wondering about something ever since I heard about it. What was the deal with MM? He was able to ditch the TSA agents in the parking lot, but what did they want with him?

I have to say that this is quite possibly the dumbest thread I've ever read on this forum. I get bounced as a Mod for answering a nonsensical post with RTFM but Joe allows something like this. It must be a generational thing.

And that's exactly what's wrong with these forums. Tom's used to populated by hard core techies. Now, in the quest for the almighty advertising $$$, it's every Tom, Dick and Harry newbie posting incomprehensible questions (ie: Hello), multiple posts (Gee, if I post the same question 6 times, maybe I'll get an answer.) and not even posting in the correct section of the forum. Why do you even have sections? Why don't you just have one big forum where everyone can post "petabytes of nonsensical posts in collegiate whimsy"?

There are still high level 'techies' here. However, we can't control the tech level of those coming here for help (and there's nothing wrong with that). This is a tech help forum, and we're here to help those at all levels.

If you don't want to help some of the newbs, that's fine, but they don't need slapped down with insults either. We all started somewhere.....

Is answering this question "I want to know how to configure a wireless network using an wireless router???" with "RTFM" slapping a poster down with insults? I've spent many hours on other forums and RTFM was never considered an insult. I wasn't even given a chance to remove my response before being demodded.

As fas as, "We all started somewhere.....", yes we did. When I first came to this forum, I just read many posts to get a feeling for how things worked before posting myself. Now, we have posters that demand instant answers if you can even understand their post.

I just feel that level of technical knowledge exchange has dropped to a very basic level. Many newbies can find the answer to their problem just by searching the forum or using Google but that involves thinking! Just give them the answer on a silver platter!
